Dr. Sarah (Cardenas) Anderson is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the newest member of Physio Sport & Spine located at 3806 Dell Range  Blvd Suite 11, Cheyenne WY 82009.

Sarah was born and raised in North Platte, NE, and is a Husker fan at heart. Although growing up in Nebraska, she is a proud graduate of East High School in Cheyenne Wyoming, where she played Volleyball and was a member of the Thunderbird Dance team. In May 2019, she graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  Prior to attending UNMC in Omaha, she received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming where she studied Kinesiology and Health Promotion. During her studies at UW, she found her true passion for physical activity as a curative resource and gained a better understanding of how physical exercise was the best option as a non-pharmacological treatment for pain.

Sarah completed her Orthopedic Residency in 2021 which is a post-graduate program to help create more highly skilled, autonomous practitioners who have substantially increased their ability to provide care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Graduates of Residency also gain a strong knowledge base of evidence-based practice, orthopedic manual therapy techniques, advanced medical screening, and radiology.

Dr. Anderson also completed her Dry Needling Certification 2022, and her Certification in Pelvic Health in 2022 which she continues to expand on for continued care specializing in Women’s Health.

Her treatment for women’s health focuses on pelvic health conditions including female pelvic floor function and dysfunction, with individual treatment programs including internal examination for urinary incontinence and the musculoskeletal components of urogynecology pain syndromes such as chronic pelvic pain, vulvar pain, interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome. Other specific considerations are treatment for prolapse and pelvic organ descent, various pelvic pain diagnoses, and abdominal wall rehabilitation.

Although she has been devoted to her studies, she finds time to travel, relax in the mountains, and attend sporting events with her husband, Brandon and her family.  She is happy to be back in Cheyenne to spend time with her husband, daughter, dog, and family. Be on the lookout for Sarah and her family in Cheyenne as they truly enjoy trying out new restaurants in town and supporting the growing Cheyenne community.  You may even catch her at a couple of Post 6 games or running the Greenway (sometimes even with her dad!)

Dr. Sarah Anderson is currently accepting new patients. Her interests include post-surgical rehabilitation, women’s health, injury prevention, and sports performance specifically with running and baseball.
